AL series

created as
a material exploration of aluminium

waves

I started Waves with one leftover sheet of aluminium and some prior experience of bending metal sheets. This is the third piece in my AL series, and I wanted to experiment with combining metals in a different way.
In this piece of furniture all the pieces are simply inserted into each other, with no additional material.

the surface structure after bending
the vertical pieces breaking the surface, similar to reefs breaking waves

couchtable

This table came to live, through my interest in especially low furniture for small rooms. I wanted to test the qualities of metal, that can only hardly be reached with wood - the stability a 3mm aluminium sheet can reach is impossible to recreate in wood. The rounded shape came from my interest in harmony and softspokeness.

Here I continued with flowing lines in furniture pieces. I was again limited in size, because of the given room this piece is going to fit in.
I agained tried to use a different method of connecting the metal pieces, this time I used rivets and by this I could easily have t-sections in the object.
