A DESIGNER’S TOOLBOX FOR REVOLUTION exhibits, questions, and contextually repositions a range of methods in the working process of designers that are gathered together under the umbrella term of the tool.
The playful exhibition architecture – which is entirely made from re-used cardboard – invites visitors to investigate, interact, and immerse themselves in the designer’s toolbox.
The contribution from the temporary artists’ collective, which originated at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, discusses a new definition of designing, which, with disarming honesty, not only presents itself as a mock-up, but also counters the solution-oriented, academic notion of design.

This exhibition came to life through a lecture at the university. We asked ourselves, if there was to be a revolution, which tools would we overthrow and which would we consider necessary to apply a new way of designing.
We used the space not only to ask questions, but also to share skills and stories. So we held workshops with children and adults to let them build their tools and tell us all about them.
