At Poolbar Generator, we were tasked with improving the festival's current waste management system.
The new system should be easier to understand, more durable and easier for the festival staff to handle.
After some testing and research, we created this waste island, where the separation of different types of waste is obvious thanks to the different colours of the bins.
The new system should be easier to understand, more durable and easier for the festival staff to handle.
After some testing and research, we created this waste island, where the separation of different types of waste is obvious thanks to the different colours of the bins.
The entire system can be made from two sheets of metal and all the offcuts are reused as structural elements.
Once the outer bins are welded into an L-shape, the rest of the system is simply inserted into each other, making the bins easy to set up. As shown in the final pictures, two waste islands can be stored on a Euro pallet, which makes them easy to store and handle.
